Second Thoughts is an analog series of self-portraits depicting the intimate journey of the bride I was ten years ago having unarticulated second thoughts. My body was feeling what I couldn’t express aloud. Helplessly, I remained a stranger to myself, unable to define who I was or embrace this new social identity. I found myself in an anxious state, lingering in a deafening closed door, self-contemplating my non-existence. More broadly, this work refers to the social constraints women face in our society and the struggle to define their own identity outside of what is expected of them.
